چکیده

Abstract This paper develops an output feedback control law in order to damp out traffic oscillations the congested regime of linearized two-class Aw-Rascle (AR) model. The macroscopic second-order AR model consists four hyperbolic partial differential equations (PDEs) describing dynamics densities and velocities on freeway. Each vehicle class is characterized by its own size driver’s behavior. considered equilibrium profiles represent evenly distributed with constant both classes along investigated track section. After linearizing around those profiles, it observed that one characteristic speeds negative, whereas remaining three are positive. Backstepping design employed stabilize 4 × 4 heterodirectional PDEs. input actuates flow at outlet section realized a ramp metering. controller obtained designing anti-collocated observer combining full state result. Overall, achieves damping stop-and-go waves finite time measuring inlet performance developed verified simulation quantified indices for fuel consumption, comfort total travel time.

A mechanism to describe the formation and propagation of stop-and-go waves in congested freeway traffic.

This paper introduces a parsimonious theory for congested freeway traffic that describes the spontaneous appearance of oscillations and their ensuing transformation into stop-and-go waves. Based upon the analysis of detailed vehicle-trajectory data, we conclude that timid and aggressive driver behaviours are the cause for this transformation. We find that stop-and-go waves arise independently o...

Identifying and Analyzing Stop and Go Traffic based on Asymmetric Theory of Driving Behavior in Acceleration and Deceleration

Stop and go traffic that leads to oscillate traffic flow frequently is observed on congestion flow. Unexpected reasons such as lane – changing maneuvers, lower speeds of leader vehicle and moving bottleneck cause stop and go traffic and amplifying delay and environment impacts. Stop and go traffic exactly can’t be modeled by traffic models, and also car following models based on kinematic flow ...

On Stop-and-Go Waves in Dense Traffic

From a Vlasov-type kinetic equation with nonlocal braking and acceleration forces, taken as a traffic model for higher densities, we derive macroscopic equations generalizing the second order model of conservation laws suggested by Aw and Rascle [1] and Zhang [2]. The nonlocality remains present in these equations, but more conventional, local equations are derived by using suitable Taylor expa...

Fast Stereo based Object Detection for Stop&Go Traffic

This paper presents a new fast binocular stereo approach for the detection and tracking of objects, in particular for stop&go traffic. The proposed scheme is based on a local feature extraction and detects dominant objects by means of a Hough transform like disparity grouping. It is able to handle not only vehicles, but also other objects such as pedestrians. In addition, it allows to determine...

Stop and go L1CAM

Prions prefer caveosomes he story of prions gets increasingly bizarre. The peculiar pathogenicity of prion protein (PrP) makes understanding and treating the resulting diseases difficult. Now, on page 703, Peters et al. provide evidence that PrP also uses an unusual endocytic pathway en route to lysosomes. The harmless version of PrP is processed and directed to caveolin-rich glycolipid rafts a...
